David and Goliath
Saul tried to give David his armor, but David gave it all back. With his staff and his sling David went from the king to put a few stones in his sack. Now a brook was there in the valley. From it David took five smooth stones. A sling in his hand. To the giant he ran. With it could he break those big bones? Well that depends who you're asking. Goliath yelled, I'll feed you to the birds. David said, you defy not an army but God, and today you will eat your own words. You come to me with a shield and sword. I come to you in the name of the Lord. I'm a boy who can't fight with a giant. All will know that God is my sword. So he ran toward giant Goliath, while he put a smooth stone in his sling. He spun it around. Brought the beast to the ground, and all Israel started to sing. David stood atop the Philistine. With the stone in Goliath's big head. He drew out Goliath's own sword, and made sure the giant was dead. When the army saw their Goliath, lying flat on the ground. They ran and they fled. Their champion was dead. They had watched him come tumbling down. Then the army of Israel pursued them. Chased them back to their own coast. While David was brought to the palace of Saul. Made the captain of all the host. The prince became David's best friend. Jonathan, king Saul's son. They made a promise between them. Their souls were knit as one. But some trouble was starting to brew. Jealous Saul heard the number one song. Though Saul was the king, the women would sing, of David all the day long. King Saul has killed his thousands, but David, ten thousand more. Saul should have been glad, but this made him mad. He was angry like never before.
