Acts 3:1-4:22

John and Peter entered the temple, where there lay a man who was lame.
All knew he was 40, and never had walked. Today will be more of the same.

As always, he asked for money. Peter looked and said, sir we have none.
But through Jesus name you'll not only walk, you'll stand, and you'll leap, and you'll run.

God healed that poor lame beggar. Amazed crowds looked on at a loss.
Peter said it's not me. It's the Lord Jesus Christ. The one you sent to the cross.

Him God has raised, and by Him this man walks. Repent now and be made whole.
Five thousand believed and trusted the healer, who alone can save man's soul.

But as they spoke to the people, the Sadducees and the priests,
With force took Peter and John. They were angry to say the least.

And then they made another mistake before 24 hours had passed.
They commanded of Peter, how did you do this? He must have thought, well I'm glad you asked!

They asked the question, so they had to listen. Peter knew what he was to do.
The Jesus you killed, God has raised up, and through Him this man stands before you!

How can we stop them? We cannot deny a great miracle has led to much fame.
So they strictly threatened, warning Peter and John, do not preach in Jesus Christ's name.

Well Peter and John said you men tell us, who we ought to obey.
Keep quiet as you have commanded, or preach what God tells us to say?
