Taken In Adultry

John 8:1-32

Jesus taught folks in the temple and the Pharisees attacked.
We caught this adulterous woman. Caught her in the very act.

The law says that she must be killed. That is Moses' word.
Jesus stooped and wrote upon the ground, as though He hadn't heard.

I wonder what He wrote. Could it be, "Where is the man?"
Or the names of Pharisee's affairs, like Dorothy, or Mary Anne?

He stood and said, if you've not sinned by all means, cast a stone.
And then began to write again. Maybe, Alice, Jill or Joan.

I don't know what He was writing, but I know when He was done,
He asked, where are your accusers? The woman answered, there are none.

Neither do I condemned you. Go and sin no more.
Then He resumed His teaching, in the temple as before.

I'm the light of the world, said Jesus. I give the light of life.
But the Pharisees showed up again. They were always causing strife.

What you say, it isn't true. My father witnesses of me.
Oh yes? Where is your father? My father you can't see.

Where I go you cannot come, for you shall die in sin.
I live to please the father and always honor him.

Many believed on Jesus, because of what they could hear and see.
He said that you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
