Luke 9:28-36

Jesus took Peter, James and John, after six full days and nights.
To a mountain high where his face did shine and his clothes were as bright as lights.

The disciples were asleep, but when they awoke, you wouldn't believe what they saw.
If it happened to me, and I could see, I'm sure I would drop my jaw.

With Him there appeared Moses and Elijah, revered in Israel's history.
Peter said Lord, we must build temples. And I think we should build three.

Was that the reason God sent these men? He wanted to show everyone.
As great as these were, they didn't compare, to Jesus God's holy Son.

Then a voice came from heaven. "This is my Son, in whom I am well pleased."
"Hear you Him," and they fell. I'll tell you now. There'd be a shaking in my knees.

When Jesus touched them and they looked up, the others were gone away.
He was greater than Moses, and Elijah too. They learned quite a lesson that day.

Then they said Lord, the scribes tell us, Elijah must first come.
Jesus said he will, but I tell you he has. Then they knew he spoke of John.
