Luke 4:1-13

After His baptism Jesus departed.
He went to the wilderness where the temptation started.

Forty days and forty nights Jesus ate no food.
Try it sometime. It'll put you in a mood.

Imagine His hunger after not being fed.
Satan said if your God turn the stones into bread.

Jesus felt the temptation though this world's not His home.
Said, man lives by God's Word and not bread alone.

Satan showed Him the kingdoms with all of the fame.
Said, all this I will give you. Just worship my name.

Jesus said get behind me you proud, haughty, perv.
Thou shalt worship the Lord, and him only shall serve.

Then they walked to a high place and there they look down.
If you're really God, cast yourself toward the ground.

Now Jesus had countered each time with a verse.
So this time ole' Satan thought, I'll do it first.

He quoted a scripture. A verse from the Psalms.
Angels protect you. Keep you safe in their palms.

But Jesus replied, Deuteronomy no doubt.
Thou shall not tempt thy God. Three strikes; now your out.

The devil then left him, defeated again.
Trust Jesus my friend. Let Him cleanse you from sin.
