Habakkuk 1:1-3:19

Habakkuk, is a man like Job, or Jonah, all upset.
How could God allow such wickedness? How much worse is it going to get?

Do you ever ask and wonder why God allows such pain?
Job did, and so did Jonah. Habakkuk's doing it again.

He shuddered at Judah's wickedness. It seemed God didn't care.
The wicked prevailed ore the righteous. My lord this isn't fair.

Then God assured, I'm watching. I'll bring judgment from the north.
The Chaldeans are a mighty band. I'm going to bring them forth.

They're ruthless and their terrible. Habakkuk, you will see.
Then Habakkuk cried unto the Lord, surely this can't be.

You are pure, and right and holy, but Chaldeans? Not that way.
You're chastening Judah with a host, even more wicked than they!

God answered, the just shall live by faith. You do not understand.
One day all those who live by faith will comprehend my plan.

Habakkuk, then realized his error, like Job who came before.
No matter what he thought he knew, he realized God knew more.

He declared, I will rejoice in God, my salvation and my strength.
The things that I just can't see now one day I'll know at length.

Let me digress and ask my friend, have you ever questioned God?
Have you wondered why He'd let you suffer and walk the path you've trod?

We pray He'll change our circumstance. Think we know what He must do.
But circumstance is just a tool, God uses to change you.

Chaldeans, thought Habakkuk, did not deserve to win.
He learned that they were just a tool. God's focus was on Him.
