Esther 5:1-6:9

When Esther came the king was glad; held his scepter on his throne.
And then he said, ask anything, even half of all I own.

Esther said I have a banquet, for Haman and the king.
Would you both come for dinner before I ask this thing?

How proud the haughty Haman was. He ate with king and queen.
He bragged to friends and family. See, it's paying to be mean.

That night the king awakened. Read the chronicles, his command.
They revealed Mordechai saved the king from evil planned.

The king inquired of his servants. What reward did this man get.
He saved the life of me, the king, and has not been honored yet.

On that morning came in Haman. He's a worthy man all right.
What shall I do to honor him, in whom the king has great delight?

Well Haman thought, he must mean me. Dinner's again planned tonight.
Now the king wants to reward me. So I'd better get this right.

Get the king's own robe, said Haman. The king's crown of royalty.
Put them on this worthy man, for all the world to see.

On a horse, with noble prince, shout for every one to hear.
This is what is done for him, whom our mighty king holds dear.
