1 Kings 17:1-17:24

Elijah was a Tishbite. He dwelt in Gilead.
He told Ahab no rain would fall. I'm sure the king was mad.

God said go live by Cherith. I'll give you food to eat.
Each day the ravens fed him. They brought him bread and meat.

He drank the brook until it dried. You see, there was no rain.
God said now go to Zarephath, and there I will sustain.

So Elijah came unto the town. Found a widow gathering sticks.
Give me a little water please, and with bread my hunger fix.

I've just a little oil and meal, no bread the widow said.
I plan to bake for my son, and then we'll both be dead.

Elijah made a promise. Have faith. You shall not die.
Now bake a cake with your oil and meal for you, your son and I.

She served Elijah first. Then they ate many a day.
The oil and meal as Elijah said, it never went away.

But as time past, her son fell sick and finally slipped away.
My son has died, the woman cried. God has punished me today.

Elijah took the young boy and carried him upstairs.
He called to God to heal the lad. God answered Elijah's prayers.
